when my mum couldnt get her messages across our heads (my 2 sisters and i)…. and ears, ohh she’ll reiterate her point in another way, and it always work! there’re 2 most ‘common-est’ reasons why we dun listen to her, firstly, with work and school deadlines we tend to forget stuff :p secondly, i mean, seriously guys, do you ‘always’ listen to your mum? :p
my mummy, the cutest and funniest woman in the world… i mean in my family :p she’s like an au natural born comedian, why’s that? ‘cuz what she says or does, always, always makes us laugh and the best thing is, she doesnt know she has that gift :p before my baby sister was born, was just my twin and i, and yeap we gave her sleepless nights back then >_< when her first attempt of spreadin her message failed, she resorted to her second attempt, which was a success. all the time. she’d leave notes! and nope, they werent in those colorful post-its, she wrote it on little scrap of paper (could be at the back of a used receipt) orrr if she wanna stick it somewhere, where she knows it’ll surely hit us in our eyes, she’ll use a masking tape. she cut a small rectangular piece of masking tape and stick it. stick it. stick it.
soooo technically, we grew up with little notes :p if i had a chance, i’d collect all those little notes she left us over the years and still do now, and start scrapbooking it :p im seeeerious :D unfortunately, it’s too late, that thought didnt cross my mind :/
there were/are a lot of notes, but the ones i can remember distinctly was, it was on a weekend, my twin and i were still in primary school, and my mum and dad had to go out for a bit to do some errands, but since its the weekend, my twin and i were literally dead to the world, we slept a lot. so my mum didnt wanna ruin our sleep, and before you think – she could text us? call even? well, we’re livin in a time when cellphones were like the adults toys, only the adult knows how to use them :p so thats when my mum knew that if she told us, we’ll forget, sooo she left a small piece of paper, torn from her cooking jotter book, and when i said it was torn, it really was torn, not the cut out usin a pair of scissors kind, there were rough, jagged sides :p and of course the message in it, scrawled in any pen she could grab that minute, unfortunately this was written in a pale, dried blue ink. in it was – papa and mama need to do some errands, we’ll be back, if youre hungry, theres food on the dining table, dun be too noisy – :p
there was another time, when the bathroom door didnt work, and she used the masking-tape approach – please close the door gently, do not bang it close! – :p and this one happened recently, i got back from work, tired and thirsty, went to the dish tray to get a mug, thats when i saw the masking-tape approach, – please do not remove the 3 teaspoons on this tray, 2 long-stemmed ones and 1 small one *angry* – yeap she got that word - ’angry’ underlined, twice! moments later, my 2 sisters saw that message, we couldnt help it, but found that message extreeemely hilarious
but that message did get across, everytime when we do the dishes, wiping them dry and returnin them back to their respective drawers, we will, always, always leave that mysterious 3 teaspoons on the dish tray
